About Us

Thank you so much for visiting us today!

Giving the customer a great experience is our top priority. High quality, unique, and health centric italian foods, coupled with convenient pick up, dine in, and delivery options are our goal. Our strength is that we're an independent pizzeria with a passion for education, experimentation, and improvement. This focus comes from the fact the owner has a chemistry degree, and spent several years as a research and development chemist in the adhesives and coating industry where he developed patentable intellectual property for dozens of companies. 

Experimentation and improvement comes naturally here at Very Good Pizza Company. Food is such an immense industry. There are always new recipes, new ingredients, and new techniques to try. When experimenting and making changes the core focus has to be on the customer. We want to give the customer a better product, but what does better mean? "Better" for Very Good Pizza means higher quality, and healthier. Additionally, we need focus on speed, understanding that the most valuable resource our customers have is their time. So what's this lead to? Well frankly, a myriad of unique foods for all diets that we truly love making because our customers are also our friends and family! 


The owner is a Geauga County native. Growing up on a farm in Montville he went to Ledgemont and St. Mary's in Chardon for grade school and middle school. NDCL for high school, and Lakeland then Hiram for college. He's a former member and former President of the Chesterland Chamber of Commerce, and is currently and member and former president of the Chesterland Rotary Club. In addition to being active in these clubs he's also held donation nights supporting pretty much all the nonprofits of Chesterland at one time or another. Organizations including, West G Band Booster & Senior Clubs, Metzenbaum Center, Rec. Council, Mapleleaf Community Residences, Girl Scouts, 4H, several animal sanctuaries, and more.
